IRB GD Constable Recruitment Procedure 2026
Stage I – Written Exam (Objective Type MCQ): All qualified candidates will take a 2-hour written test worth 200 marks that includes General Awareness, General Intelligence & Reasoning Ability, Arithmetical & Numerical Ability, and Test of English Language & Comprehension; a minimum of 33% aggregate marks is required to pass.
Stage II – Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who are shortlisted will have their height and chest measured, followed by PET activities including 100 m and 1500 m races, high jump, and long jump; only those who meet the specified standards and time limits will progress further.
Stage III – Trade Examination / Health Assessment (if relevant): For Constable Band and Constable Bugler positions, a trade examination in playing band/bugle will be held, and all applicants must also pass the health assessment test, which includes visual standards and absence of color blindness.
